Winners of JCDC song festivals to be decided this weekend

The grand finale of the Jamaica Festival Song Competition is set for Saturday July 26 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.

This year the entries are  “Island in the Sun” by Bono G, “Sweet Jamaica” with Bastic, “Jamaica Boom” by Sanjay, “Mi Likkle Paradise” sung by Pehtrol, “I Love JA” - DeepJahi, “My Jamaica” by Kahani, “Jamaica Nice” with Clearance, “Jamaica Irie” - Oliver Smoothe, “Little But We Tallawah” by Rasta Keekee and “We Produce” by Rojjah. In adding to the presentations form the entrances additionally entertainment will be provided by Bugle, Nesbeth and Ikayaya. The event is set to start at 8:00 p.m.
 
Gospel Finals

Then, come Sunday, July 27, ten performers will face-off in the National Finals of the JCDC Jamaica Gospel Song Competition at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre. According to the organization, this promises to unearth and showcase some major talent and promising artistes for the genre of gospel music.

The show will kick start at 7:00 p.m. and will feature the top ten finalists and their songs. recorded, mixed and mastered by Almond Productions Limited.

The Jamaica Gospel Song Competition has become an iconic presentation of indigenous gospel music in Jamaica since its inception in 1987. The guest performer for the show is gospel powerhouse, Joan Flemming.
