CDB expects flat GDP growth in Barbados this year

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has projected that real gross domestic product (GDP) growth will be flat in Barbados this year.

The CDB says the main economic activity is premised on favourable tourism performance due to growth in major tourism source markets, the opening of Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), and an expansion of airlift.

It says the influx of medical students associated with RUSM may also have a positive impact on other industries, such as distribution and transport.
