Jamaica grows more uncompetitive
The World Economic Forum's measure of Global Economic Competitiveness, has found that Jamaica's economy has grown more uncompetitive, in the last year.
The report ranks Jamaica as the 95th most competitive economy, out of 139 countries.
This down four places from the ranking of 91 Jamaica had last year.
By comparison, Barbados, ranked 43, is the highest-ranked Caribbean country.
Trinidad and Tobago is second, with a global ranking of 84.
The ranking shows that Jamaica has a far way to go, before it is able to match the economic competitiveness of these two Caribbean countries.
Economic competitiveness is a factor investors weigh in deciding to invest in a country, and the adverse ranking to affect Jamaica's efforts to attract investment.
