In trading on Friday, the JSE Index advanced by 2,004 points, to close at 159,309.
The Junior Market Index declined by 18 points to close at 2,233.
There was trading in 41 stocks, of which 23 advanced, 12 declined and six traded firm.
Sagicor Group was the volume leader, followed by Jamaica Broilers and Cable & Wireless.
