New car dealers struggling to remain afloat
Similar to the challenges being experienced by their counterparts in the used car trade, new car dealers say the sector continues to decline despite the offering bargains to potential buyers.
Kent LaCroix, Chairman of the Automobile Dealers Association, says members are becoming alarmed that sales continue to fall despite efforts to attract buyers to their car lots.
Mr. LaCroix lamented that more vehicle owners are keeping their vehicles for longer periods.
He says this is not good news for the sector which is struggling to remain afloat.
“It's not doing very well ... the numbers continue to decline. We are very concerned as it relates to sales and we’re trying everything to improve sales (by) offering incentives to the consumers to see how we can get it back to somewhere neat what it used to be,” Mr. LaCroix said.
