NHT to award grants to low income earners
The National Housing Trust (NHT) is to award grants of up to $1.2 million to 30 contributors in the lowest income groups.
The grants are to be awarded over the coming weeks to assist the beneficiaries to buy or build their homes.
The NHT says it will supplement NHT loans for which the applicants are now eligible at no extra cost.
The NHT Home Grant is one of a slate of new measures that was announced in May, to help contributors in the lowest income groups to access houses.
Beneficiaries will have up to one year to take up the Grant and the names of successful applicants will be published in this Sunday's newspapers.
