Oil prices fell almost one per cent on Thursday, but held near 2019 highs, supported by a tightening of global stocks, OPEC production cuts and U.S. sanctions on key producers Iran and Venezuela.

Brent crude futures fell 56 cents to $67.94 a barrel.

U.S. crude fell 32 cents to $59.91 a barrel after earlier hitting its highest since November 12 at $60.33.
