UNDP releases US$200,000 for hurricane relief in Bahamas

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has released US$200,000 of emergency funding to The Bahamas in response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian.
 
Denise Antonio, UNDP Resident Representative in the Jamaica office, who is also responsible for The Bahamas, said the UNDP is supporting The Bahamas Government in early recovery through its global network of technical expertise. 
 
Ms Antonio said the UNDP is actively engaging with the government and is committed to rebuilding a more resilient Bahamas.
 
She said a team of experts is on the ground to assist in the design of a programme tailored to the recovery needs of the country.
