Dancehall entertainer Rodney Pryce popularly known as "Bounty Killa" is to stand trial on September 27 on drug possession charges.

The trial date was set Wednesday when Bounti Killa appeared before the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court.

Bounti was charged earlier this year with possession of ganja and smoking ganja following an incident in New Kingston.

The DJ was reportedly standing outside a night club in New Kingston when he was spotted by a policeman smoking a ganja spliff.

He was arrested and charged.

However, the artiste has pleaded not guilty to the charges which attract a small fine.

In the meantime, another entertainer who has run afoul of the law also appeared in court Wednesday.

Andre "Popcaan" Sutherland whose collaboration with Vybz Kartal called "Clarks" has been climbing the charts, pleaded not guilty to drug possession charges.

He was also caught smoking ganja.

The police reported that on May 9, they were on patrol duty in the St. Andrew North Police Division when a car with four men was seen at a service station on Mannings Hill Road.

The cops approached the vehicle and "Popcaan" who was the driver, was seen with a ganja spliff in his mouth.

He was arrested and taken to the Constant Spring Police Station where he was charged.

He is to return to court on August 17.
