Elephant Man wants his car back
The lawyer representing popular dance hall DJ Oneil Bryan better known as Elephant Man, says his client is angry about the seizure of his car by the tax department and the artiste wants his car back.
A tax collection team, supported by the St. Andrew Police, seized the DJ's red Mercedes Benz.
The car was seized because he failed to pay the tax collectors millions of dollars in unpaid taxes.
Mr. Gordon says Elephant Man feels he is being abused by the authorities.
In March, the tax department had placed Elephant Man on a list of 50 high profile delinquent taxpayers.
Mr. Gordon assumes that the tax department wants to give the public a bad impression of his client.
In this case, Elephant Man may have to pay off his arrears within a specific period or his vehicle could be sold.
And if the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle do not cover the debt, the artiste could face criminal or civil charges.
