CDB providing multi-million dollar assistance to Jamaica

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) on Thursday announced that it is providing US$172 million in assistance to Jamaica from this year until 2021.

The money is to be used to, among other things, help diversify the economy based on the success of the tourism industry and improve the business regulatory environment.

The United Kingdom will provide just over US$22 million towards the effort.

The CDB said the programme of assistance, outlined in a new Country Strategy Paper, was approved by the Bank's Board of Directors on Thursday.
