Education Ministry says preparations for new school year almost complete

The Education Ministry is reporting that preparations for the start of the 2014/2015 school year are 95 percent complete.

Classes will resume on Monday and Chief Education Officer, Dr. Grace McLean, says the Ministry is in the process of delivering the last set of high school books and furniture.

The delivery of books will be done this week.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has distributed maintenance grants and subventions to meet the cost of repairs and other preparatory works at schools.

Dr. McLean says all students have been placed, and during this week, schools should complete registration ahead of Monday's start of classes.
