Flash flood warning in effect for ten parishes

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of ten parishes.
These are St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, Trelawny and St. Ann.
The Meteorological Service says a Flash Flood Watch remains is in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of the remaining parishes. These are effective until 5 o'clock.
The Met Service says a large area of disturbed weather and a tropical wave now moving across Jamaica, continue to influence weather conditions.
The tropical wave is expected to move away from the island later on Saturday. However, the area of disturbed weather is expected to linger across the western Caribbean through to Sunday.
Moderate to heavy showers are expected to continue to affect sections of all parishes on Saturday.
Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as strong gusty winds are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, particularly over the waters west and south of the island.
