A funeral is to be held today for former Member of Parliament for Portland Eastern, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield.
The service is scheduled to begin at 11am at the Open Bible Church in Folly, Portland.
Dr Bloomfield was found murdered at his house in Passley Gardens, Portland on February 2.A post mortem revealed that he died of multiple stab wounds.
Meanwhile, the opposition People's National Party (PNP), is close to announcing its representative for the constituency the by-election is called.
RJR News understands that the Party has approached Senator Damion Crawford to contest the seat.
PNP President, Dr. Peter Phillips, says an announcement will be made following Dr. Bloomfield's funeral.
“We will then move into different gear, immediately following (the funeral)and all will be revealed,” the opposition leader said. .
Ann-Marie Vaz is expected to be the Jamaica Labour Party's candidate when the constituents of Portland Eastern go the polls.
