Heavy rains in recent days have impacted two major supply systems operated by the National Water Commission, NWC.
Intake at the Great River and Martha Brae treatment plants have been blocked, due to increased deposits of mud, silt and debris.
Customers in Trelawny, St. James and Hanover are experiencing a disruption in water supply.
A statement from the Commission says it's expected that normal operations will resume at both facilities as soon as the turbid conditions subside.
In Trelawny, the areas affected include Duncans Bay, Silver Sand, Carey Park, Stewart Castle, Retreat Housing Scheme, Hague, Stonebrook Housing Scheme, Hammersmith and Green Park.
