The Supreme Court has granted an injunction blocking the opposition Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) from removing former North West St Ann Member of Parliament, Othneil Lawrence, as caretaker for the constituency.
The injunction was granted on Thursday by Justice Courtney Day.
Lawrence filed a lawsuit against JLP Leader Andrew Holness and General Secretary Dr Horace Chang, after the Party wrote to him on November 5, informing him of his removal.
Lawrence claimed that the decision to remove him was a breach of the JLP's Constitution.
Attorney Hugh Wildman says, the injunction blocks the Party from removing Mr Lawrence until the lawsuit is heard.
The matter is set for December 11.
