Marine post to be set up in Alligator Pond, Manchester

A marine post is to be set up in the large fishing village of Alligator Pond, St. Elizabeth within the next eighteen months.
       
This was announced on Thursday at the Marine Bases Project stakeholders forum in Alligator Pond.
    
The project is the result of an MOU between the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Customs Agency.
    
Financial and Human resources will be provided by the Jamaica Customs Agency.
     
Business owners in and around the area have welcomed the added measures to assist in crime mitigation and border protection.
