New Family Court Attendance Centre to be built by January

Carol Palmer, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice

The Kingston and St. Andrew Family Court Attendance Centre, which was destroyed by fire in 2015, should be back in operation by January next year.

A contract valued at more than $50 million was signed Thursday morning for a new facility to be constructed.

It will be located at the corner of Beeston and East Streets in downtown Kingston.

Carol Palmer, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, said the centre will be equipped to provide re-socialisation services to children.
