Police constable nabbed on robbery charges

Another member of  the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been arrested, accused of  robbery.

A constable, who was stationed in St. Thomas, was arrested on Tuesday, just over 24 hours after a Portland couple was held up and robbed of $700,000 in the community of Forte. The cop was on suspension at the time of  the incident.
 
A statement from the Jamaica Constabulary Force says the constable is alleged to be one of  four men who held up the couple as they returned home from a party about 3:15 Monday morning. 
 
He was identified during preliminary investigations and taken into custody. The statement said his identity is being withheld at this time.
 
As the search continues for the other robbers, investigators are appealing to persons to share any information that can assist the probe by contacting the Manchioneal Police at 876-993-8061, Crime Stop at 311, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
