The Police Federation says it will be putting pressure on the Government to carry out its promise to provide transportation for members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
The move comes in the wake of the death of Corporal Judith Williams,54.
Williams, who was attached to the Office of the Police Commissioner, was at a bus stop in East Kingston heading to work on Thursday morning when she was shot several times by two gunmen. She died on Friday.
Chairman of the Police Federation, Sergeant Raymond Wilson, says since 2007, the group has asked successive governments to re-introduce a transportation system for JCF members.
He says the buses that were once used to transport police personnel have deteriorated.
Wilson says the previous government did not fulfil its promise to provide a bus by the end of last year.
"We recently raised it with this government went we met with the Minister of National Security - when we meet again We will be seeking the urgent delivery of at least one or two (buses) that can kick start the process and we will take it from there, but it is more urgent than ever right now," Wilson said.
Meanwhile, Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) has condemned the killing of Williams.
In a release, JFJ offered its sympathy to her family and colleagues. The organisation is also encouraging anyone with information to share it with the police.
