Police search Ruel Reid's home

Following a search of the residence of former government minister Ruel Reid on Saturday, the Police High Command has confirmed that investigators from three law enforcement agencies are now carrying out investigations into alleged impropriety at the Ministry of Education, Youth & Information.

The agencies are MOCA (Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency), C-TOC(Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch) and FID (Financial Investigation Division).

The High Command released a statement some hours after detectives carried out a search of the home of Ruel Reid, recently fired from his cabinet post as Minister of Education, Youth & Information.

The cops searched Mr. Reid's College Green residence in the presence of his attorney Carolyn Chuck.

It's not known whether the cops removed any items from the residence.

Mr. Reid was fired last week by Prime Minister Andrew Holness following allegations of financial impropriety and nepotism within the Education Ministry.

Mr. Reid has denied the allegations.
