Portland cop under probe in relation to disappearance of taxi driver

Superintendent Dwayne Wellington, head of the Portland Police
A Portland based policeman is under investigation by Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and the Major Investigation Division (MID) to determine whether he is involved in the disappearance of a taxi driver in the parish.
The taxi driver, who has been missing for more than two weeks, is now feared dead.
Concern was raised after he identified the policeman by name in a voice note which he sent to a friend on September 26 warning of his possible demise.
He has not been seen since.
In the voice note, he claimed the policeman was after him.
Superintendent Dwayne Wellington, head of the Portland Police, confirmed that the cop who was identified is now under investigation.
His firearm has been seized and tests done.
Investigators are trying to ascertain whether one of two unidentified bodies found in St. Catherine and St. Mary is that of the missing taxi operator.
