Reports of abduction of Canadian visitor - a Hoax

A report received by the police of  a Canadian visitor being abducted in front of  a school in Pembroke Hall, St. Andrew yesterday was a hoax and the man who reportedly made the false report is now in police custody.

Senior investigators launched a probe after being informed that a woman was abducted during a car-jacking on Thursday morning.

“So far it has been verified and confirmed that the complaint is not true and the person who made the complaint is being processed with the possibility of being charged for creating public mischief,” said spokesman for the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch, Senior Superintendent Clifford Chambers.
