Search continues for missing Haitians

The police in the Eastern parish of Portland are appealing for the public's help in locating three Haitian men who were among a group of seven Haitians who landed in the neighbouring parish of St. Thomas last week.

One of the Haitians, a woman, is in the custody of the Portland police, while three are in a police lockup in St.Thomas.

Head of the Portland Police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron says following questioning of those in custody, it was discovered that three Haitians are unaccounted for.

He warned the public that men pose “a serious public health and security risk” until proven otherwise.

Cameron added that anyone found harbouring the men could be charged under the Immigration Act.
