"Time for a Cabinet reshuffle" - says PSOJ President

President of  the Private Sector Organisation of  Jamaica (PSOJ) Christopher Zacca believes it's time for a re-shuffle of  the Portia Simpson-Miller led Cabinet.

Speaking with RJR News on Friday, Zacca told RJR News that the PSOJ has observed a sluggishness in the economic environment midway through the term of  the government and since the start of  the International Monetary Fund programme.

While not saying what the changes should be, Zacca

outlined how a Cabinet re-shuffle would assist in improving competitiveness and growth.

“We have done well in one arm of our economic reform, in our macro economic stabilization fiscal consolidation, but the urgent need to drive competitiveness and ease of doing business as  vis a  vis our competitors it’s urgent to create growth  I think this demands that we put emphasis on those areas in the Cabinet and I  think it is time to refresh."

He says the Prime Minister should contemplate how to better compose the Cabinet given the current economic climate.

The PSOJ President added that his suggestion is not based on the death  of Agriculture Minister Roger Clarke .
