Ganja found at Sangster International Airport
The Area One narcotics police are following strong leads following a drug bust this week at the Sangster International Airport.
More than 180 packages of the ganja were found in a pallet loaded with cargo destined for London on Tuesday.
The drug which weighed just under 200 pounds was found in the agricultural warehouse at the airport.
This is the second time in as many weeks that the narcotics police have made drug busts at a port in the second city.
Two Saturdays ago, seven canisters of ganja weighing more than 1,200 pounds were found at the Shipping Pier, four of which were attached to the hull of a cargo ship from Trinidad, destined to the Bahamas.
Three of the canisters were recovered from a boat whose pilot managed to elude the police after they spotted him heading towards the cargo ship.
