Jack's Hill Primary hit by thieves
The new school year got off to a shaky start for staff and students of the Jack's Hill Primary and Infant School in St. Andrew.
School officials confirmed, on Monday afternoon, that thieves gained entry into classrooms by breaking decorative blocks, wooden partitions and blackboards.
School officials say this is not the first time the school has been broken into, as there have been previous thefts of produce from the kitchen garden.
The latest robbery has been described as the most destructive.
The items stolen include pencils, books, sheet sets from the infant department and other miscellaneous items.
School officials say funds will have to be found to repair the damaged wall.
It is anticipated that classes will resume on Tuesday.
The police were called and the crime scene processed.
