JLP lashes out at Police Federation Chairman’s broadside
General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Karl Samuda has condemned statements made earlier this week by the Chairman of the Police Federation, Sergeant Raymond Wilson at the Federation’s Conference.
In a tersely worded statement on Friday afternoon, Mr. Samuda said the statements were a shameful display of political bias and unprofessionalism.
Mr. Samuda stated that public servants should at all times avoid making political statements especially in the context of the present industrial relations climate.
He went on to state that Sergeant Wilson should exercise professional restraint and good sense in these very challenging times for all Jamaicans.
Mr. Samuda also opined that the men and women of the Police Force deserve the very best representation and their President should be careful not to embarrass them with what he termed ill-considered and inappropriate comments.
On Wednesday the Federation President accused the government of blatant corruption and supporting criminal elements.
