Killed while playing dominoes
Twenty seven year old Lloyd Barrett of Cornwall Gardens Housing Scheme in Mount Salem, St. James was shot dead in his community Thursday night.
Information from the Mount Salem Police is that about 11:30pm, Mr. Barrett was playing dominoes when a group of men drove up in a Toyota Corolla motor car and opened gunfire, hitting him.
He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he died.
And Marvin Smith, 27, otherwise called "Kirk", a 'higgler' of Green Castle in St. Mary was chopped to death during a fight in his community on Thursday.
One man has since been taken into custody.
His name is being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports from the Islington Police are that the two men were involved in a dispute which escalated into a fight.
During the fracas, a machete was used to chop Mr. Smith on the neck.
He was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he died.
