PNP applauds Carey’s removal
The Opposition People's National Party (PNP) is welcoming the latest High Court ruling that removed retired Jurist, Justice Boyd Carey, as chairman of the FINSAC Commission.
Opposition Spokesman on Justice, Senator A.J. Nicholson, says the PNP had long, publicly declared certain misgivings, about the Finsac Commission.
Senator Nicholson says, among the Party's majors concerns, were the manner in which the Commission was being conducted.
He said the Party believed that the demeanour and attitude of Chairman Carey, was more inquisitorial than an Enquiry.
Senator Nicholson also highlighted another concern.
“And this has to do with the apparent conflict of interest so far as Mr. Carey and others who were involved in that Commission were concerned,” he said.
Senator Nicholson says the ruling is welcomed, and reiterated that Justice Carey should have recused himself, from the Commission.
