Policeman killed in Mountain View operation laid to rest
Scores of mourners on Saturday afternoon packed the pews at the Bethel Temple Apostolic Church in May Pen Clarendon to pay final respects to slain Constable Jason Davis.
Constable Davis who enlisted in the force on September 9, 2002, was killed on May 24 while on an operation along Mountain view Avenue.
Superintendent Michael Bailey who heads the Kingston Eastern Division to which Constable Davis was attached, described the late Constable as a man who was not afraid to take the fight to criminals.
Constable Michael Franz Morrisson of the Jamaica Police Federation in his tribute to a fallen colleague called on Jamaicans to throw their support behind the police.
Constable Davis was one of two police officers killed by gunmen on Mountain View Avenue on the morning of May 24.
He went to the area to assist colleagues who had been pinned down by criminals.
