Steer Town Academy officially opened
The gates to the newest high school in St. Ann were formerly opened on Monday morning.
The Steer Town Academy in Mansfield Heights in Ocho Rios, named as one of the Ministry of Education's School of Excellence, caters to Grade Seven and Grade Nine students.
The usual inflow of parents on school compounds was not evident at the institution as they were kept at bay at the school's gate while the students settled down.
Board Chairman Neville Williams, representatives from the Ministry's Region Three and other persons were on hand to witness the start to the new school term.
The school boasts 19 classrooms with a complement of 49 members of staff and 482 registered students.
