Tesha Miller to again seek bail
Another attempt will be made on Thursday to obtain bail for Tesha Miller, reputed head of the Klansman Gang.
Miller, who surrendered to the police during the State of Emergency, was expected to be released in late July when the period ended.
However, he was charged with assaulting a policeman while in custody and refused bail on July 20 when he appeared in the Corporate Area Criminal Court.
Miller is charged jointly with Keifa Ogilvie, 24, son of Justin Ogilvie, a close confidant of former Tivoli Gardens don, Christopher "Dudus" Coke.
The police alleged that on July 14, a policeman at the Kingston Central Police lock-up attempted to confiscate a cellular phone found in Ogilivie’s possession.
It is alleged that the prisoner punched the policeman in the face.
During the fracas, Miller, who was also in the cell, joined in in attacking the policeman.
Both were later charged with assault.
However, the attorneys for the men disputed the allegation and claimed that it was a ploy to keep them in custody.
