Parliamentarians remember Horace Clarke
Members of the House of Representatives Tuesday paid tribute to former Cabinet Minister Horace Clarke who passed away over the weekend.
MP's remembered him as a Member who served the House with distinction.
“Horace was always very quiet, rarely spoke but one of the things about Horace is that he has this baritone voice, when he speaks you have to listen and he always shows respect to everybody,” Mr. Warmington said.
Horace Clarke was a former Member of Parliament in St. Mary and Cabinet Minister.
He was forced to resign from the Cabinet in the early 1990's because of the Shell Waiver Scandal.
On Tuesday afternoon, Opposition MP Dr. Peter Phillips noted that despite resigning from the cabinet Mr. Clarke bore no ill will.
“He was the main manager of my campaign to be General Secretary of the party and one of my first tasks was to go to him to receive his resignation from the Cabinet but he never bore any animosity whatever,” Dr. Phillips said.
