Maxine Henry-Wilson, People's National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament (MP0 for South-Eastern St. Andrew, is disassociating herself from an anonymous e-mail which references statements she made at a PNP conference recently.

The email sent on Thursday by a mysterious group calling itself the Comrades for Change, referred to comments allegedly made by Mrs. Henry-Wilson at her South East St. Andrew constituency conference on Sunday.

In these comments, Mrs. Henry Wilson reportedly declared that the PNP was more than just an electoral machine, but was a vehicle for change to bring social justice and social change in the country.

The group endorsed these remarks as it harshly criticised the current leadership of the PNP.

Mrs. Henry Wilson has since accused the group of distorting her speech.

She has distanced herself, declaring that there is nothing in her speech that conveys her being divisive in the party.

She says this is either a grave misunderstanding of her comments or an attempt to create mischief.

Mrs. Henry Wilson was adamant that she not be used to further the agenda of this group, to which she is not affiliated.

Comrades for Change, has not revealed who its members are and provided only an email contact.

It describes itself as a group of organized PNP members and supporters formed in October 2007, committed to purging the party of what it calls big-money-interests, and those who lack the capacity and integrity to lead.
