Six women killed in store fire in Barbados
The Royal Barbados Police Force is intensifying its probe into the killing of six young people in a botched robbery at a store Friday night.
Two men with machetes burst into the Campus Trendz clothing store and demanded money before setting the establishment on fire.
The police believe the blaze was set by a molotov cocktail.
Three workers and three customers, all women, died in the fire.
They were trapped inside the building after fleeing to the back of the store in a bid to escape the blaze.
Kaymar Jordan, Editor in Chief at the Barbados Nation newspaper, gave an update on the investigation on RJR’s weekly news review programme That's a Rap! Sunday afternoon.
“The police have released a sketch of one of the two men believed to be behind the dastardly attack which has shocked the entire country. The police have been given a description of the two suspects from eyewitnesses but to date, no one has been taken into custody,” she said.
