Another win for Atkinson at FINA World Cup meet

Jamaican swim sensation Alia Atkinson fell just 0.04 seconds shy of her own world record but was still victorious in the women's 100m breaststroke in the Singapore leg of the FINA World Cup.

Atkinson stopped the clock at 1:02.40 seconds for gold ahead of Russian Yulia Efimova and American Molly Hannis to claim her 20th win in the event.

The race, however, seemed to have taken a toll on the jamaican as she finished eighth in the women's 200 individual medley in 2 minutes 14.32 seconds.

Hungarian Katinka Hosszu won in 2:06.25 seconds with compatriot Zsuzsanna Jakabos second and Efimova third.

Atkinson is expected to compete on Saturday in the women's 50 metre breaststroke.
