Hydel enters Manning Cup Competition
Hydel High is the only new comer to this year's ISSA/Pepsi Digicel Manning Cup Competition, while Oberlin and Vauxhaull make a return to push the total number of schools to a record 42.
The competition which is set to kick off on September 11 at Jarrett Park was launched on Wednesday at the Terra Nova Hotel.
St. Georges will start the defence of their crown against St. Jago and their captain Devon Williams says it will be difficult to make it three in a row.
Seventy-four schools will try to dethrone St. Elizabeth Technical of their DaCosta Cup title, including the returning Mile Gully who will play out of Group F.
St. James will face Spot Valley while STETHS will begin their title defence against Lacovia and their coach Andrew Edwards has no doubt in his players' ability to defend their title.
Last year's competition was marred by misconduct after a parent attacked a Jamaica College student after what he deemed was an unfair challenge on his son.
However ISSA's President Dr. Walton Small said no kind of indiscipline will be tolerated, neither on the field nor in the stands.
