Jamaica's swimming sensation Alia Atkinson continued her rich vein of form as she clocked a world-leading 1 minute, 02.74 seconds to win the 100 metre breaststroke at FINA World Cup Series in Singapore on Friday.
Another Jamaican, Brianna Roman, finished 6th in 1min, 07.64 seconds.
It was the first time that two Jamaicans had qualified for the final of a FINA event. Atkinson's time was also just outside her own world record of 1 min, 02.36, while Roman had clocked a personal best 1 min, 07.55 seconds in the semi-finals.
Atkinson and Roman will be back in the pool on Saturday's third and final day of the competition when they contest the semi-finals of the 50 metre breaststroke.
