Bravo breaks silence on dispute with CWI

The saga involving sidelined Trinidadian Darren Bravo and Cricket West Indies has deepened as the stylish left-hander says he feels as though he has been dealt with unfairly.

Bravo has been left out of the West Indies set-up since October last year after a tweet on his twitter account called Cricket West indies President Dave Cameron a “big idiot”. The board has since asked Bravo to remove the tweet, with nothing forthcoming.

However eight months on Bravo has hit back in an interview on the Caribbean television network Line and Length.

Bravo was non-committal when asked if he would delete the tweet. “Even though you saw a tweet on my account, on my Twitter account, no one actually asked me if I did that,” Bravo said. He also adds that the unfair treatment continued even after he was sent home from the tour.

He claimed that neither the West Indies coach nor the manager or media manager ever enquired if he had posted the tweet. “No one asked me: ‘Darren Bravo, did you tweet that?’ No one asked me anything. So I went to sleep.”
