'Concrete' ready to avenge previous loss to 'Magic Man'

2013 champion Devon ‘Concrete’ Moncriffe will be seeking revenge against Canada's boxing sensation Ricardo ‘Magic Man’ Salas in Wednesday night’s second semi-final of the Wray & Nephew Contender Series at Chinese Benevolent Association Headquarters. Wednesday's second semi-final is billed as a grudge match.

41 year old Devon ‘Concrete’ Moncriffe, who suffered his only knockout in his 13 year professional career at the hands of the 19-year-old Salas last October in Toronto, wants to return the favour on Jamaican soil. Moncriffe who was floored three times in that first round defeat to salas, says he was unprepared for that fight.

Both boxers tipped the scale at 144-and-a-half pounds at tuesday's weigh-in. Salas, who is 22 years younger than Moncriffe, says he's in better condition than last year. Moncriffe's trainer Gilbert Vaz, says the Jamaican who produced two knockouts in his last two fights, is much sharper and will be taking sweet revenge.

Both boxers promise all-out attack come Wednesday night. The winner of Wednesday night's contest will meet Richard ‘Frog’ Holmes In the final. TVJ will have live coverage starting at 9:30 pm.
