WICB offers seven cricketers retainer contracts
Jamaica's spinner Nikita Miller is among seven new cricketers who have been offered central retainer contracts by the West Indies Cricket Board on a list of 15.
However, there is no place for pacer Jerome Taylor and Ramnaresh Sarwan.
Chris Gayle and Brendan Nash have been retained on the list of centrally contracted players.
Miller, who was on the list of development contracted players last year, is joined by Kieron Pollard, Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo, Shane Shillingford, Devon Smith and Nelon Pascal.
Taylor, Sarwan, Denesh Ramdin, Narsingh Deonarine, Dave Bernard and Travis Dowlin– have slipped off the list of those offered central retainer contracts due to various reasons.
Bernard has been offered a developmental contract while Sarwan and Taylor’s limited availability for the West Indies over the past year due to injuries weighed heavily against them.
Sarwan and Deonarine’s general levels of fitness were also deemed unsatisfactory.
Bernard and Andre Russell were among 10 players, who were offered developmental contracts.
