Defending champs retain Seido Karate Int title
Kenneth Edwards and Shakeema Cunningham retained their male and female grand title at the 30th staging of annual Seido Karate International tournament at the Alfred Sangster U-Tech Auditorium.
Edwards outclassed light weight champion Scott Wright in the final.
The champion won all three rounds of two minutes convincingly to win his fifth title of his career.
After a slow start in the opening round, Edwards picked up the tempo and landed several combinations to win on all judges score-cards.
In the semifinal, Edwards dominated Paul Williams, while Wright got by heavy weight champion Leighton Roberts.
On the women's side, Cunningham had an easy battled against national champion Marrissa Jones.
It was a one sided affair as Cunningham showed more experience against her opponent to won unanimously for her second straight title.
