Boyz top Costa Rica
Jamaica's Reggae Boyz eked out a 1-0 win over Costa Rica in their friendly international at the National Stadium Sunday night.
Ryan Johnson’s 67th minute goal proved to be the winner.
Bradley Stewart, Assistant Coach, puts the Boyz’ performance in to perspective.
“We valuate the results based on where we want to get to in another two years. This is the preparation phase for our participation in the Digicel Cup and also the Gold Cup … that is the focus at the moment.
“Additionally, we want to identify our core set of players that in another two or three years, we know we’ll have them at their best for the world cup qualifications, so on a scale, we feel reasonably satisfied,” Stewart said.
The Reggae Boyz will depart the country on Monday for Tuesday's friendly against Peru at the Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Match time is 7 o'clock local time.
