Gayle guides Scorpions to victory in regional Super 50

Chris Gayle notched a century in his final regional match to help the Jamaica Scorpions secure their second win on the trot, defeating the Barbados Pride by 33 runs in the Regional Super 50 tournament at the Kensington Oval on Saturday. Gayle cracked 122 off 113 deliveries with 10 fours and 8 sixes, but didn't get much more support apart from Andre McCarthy who made 48 as the Scorpions posted 226 all out batting first.

Kevin Stoute was the pick of the Bajan bowlers taking 3-33 while there were two wickets apiece for Shamar Springer, Ashley Nurse, Miguel Cummins and Suliemann Benn. The Barbados pride then struggled to get going and were eventually dismissed for 193 as only Justin carter got among the runs with 77 against Oshane Thomas who bagged 3-53.

Captain Nikita Miller and fellow spinners Christopher Lamont and Seamer Gordon Bryan grabbed 2 wickets each. The Scorpions beat the Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners at the three Ws Oval in their first match on Thursday.
