Injury forces top filly out of Jamaica Oaks

Voice of 16-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta

RJR Sports understands that the nation's top 3 year old filly She’s A Maneater is out of Saturday's Caribbean Choice Jamaica Oaks for native bred fillies over 10 furlongs at Caymanas Park.

It's understood that the bay filly who is conditioned by 16-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, suffered a strained muscle during an exercise gallop on Sunday morning. As a result, she was not listed at Wednesday morning's declaration of runners for the Oaks.

“She has strained a muscle in her hind quarters, so we are basically watching her to see what happens. We have treated her but the treatment is a long slow process so we are just going to watch and see how she responds to it. There’s no telling now as to whether or not she’s going to run in the Derby. We are just hoping for the best and then take it from there,” said 16-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta who conditions She’s A Maneater.
