Jamaican quarter-milers book final tickets at NACAC Champs

Quarter-miler Stephanie-Ann McPherson and Christine Day were among the Jamaican qualifiers for finals on the opening day of the 3-day NACAC Track and Field Championships in Toronto, Canada. McPherson clocked 52.22 seconds to win her 400 metres semi-final while day was second in her semi-final with 52.53 behind defending champion Courtney Okolo of the USA who produced the fastest qualifying time of 51.81.

Demish Gaye with 46.62 for second in his semi-final and Fitzroy Dunkley 46.55 for third in his semi-final also booked their spots to the final of the men's 400 metres.
