Local track and field analysts Raymond “KC” Graham and Dwayne Extol believe that Jamaica's junior athletes will not miss out on potential scholarships to attend colleges overseas due to the cancellation of the ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Earlier this month, renowned track and field coach Stephen Francis pleaded with ISSA to reconsider their decision to cancel the 2020 edition of “Champs” in order to give student athletes an opportunity to earn scholarships. However, fellow coach and analyst Raymond 'KC' Graham who coached for three years at Hampton University in Virginia in the United States, says the cancellation does little to stop athletes from earning scholarships. Captain of 2010 Boys’ champions Wolmer's, Dwayne Extol, who also attended college in the US, agrees.
