MBU's Premier League survival hang by a thread

Montego Bay United's time of reckoning arrives on Wednesday as the preliminary phase of the Red Stripe Premier League comes to a close with the final match day. Mo Bay who still has a mathematical chance of surviving the drop, must beat second place Waterhouse at Drewsland and hope Dunbeholden lose to Portmore United at the Spanish Town Prison Oval in order to survive on goal difference.

But as it stands, the team from the west looks a sure pick to join FC Reno in the lower leagues next season as they hold a -23 goal difference compared to Dunbeholdens -7. Waterhouse in the meantime, can’t afford a slip up against Mo Bay as a defeat coupled with a Mount Pleasant win against UWI FC at the Mona Bowl would see them drop to third and replaced in the semi-final round’s automatic slot  by the St Ann-based team.

Elsewhere, Arnett Gardens in 6th on 45 points, will be looking for all three against Harbour View at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex while Cavalier hosts Tivoli Gardens at Stadium East. FC Reno will also host their final Premier League game at the Frome Complex at least for another year as they welcome Humble Lion. All games kickoff at 3:30 pm.
