Reggae Boyz to meet USA in friendly international

The United States and Jamaica will renew their ongoing rivalry when they face off in an international friendly in June. The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has confirmed the June 5 friendly at the Audi Field in Washington on June 5. JFF president Michael Ricketts in a recent interview with RJR Sports, had said discussions were advanced for a meeting on either June 4 or 5 at a venue to be decided.

The game comes days before the start of the CONCACAF Gold Cup where the USA is the defending champion, having beaten the Jamaicans 2-1 in 2017. The Reggae Boyz are drawn in Group “C” for the tournament alongside Curacao, Honduras and El Salvador and will begin their journey in Jamaica on June 17 when they face Honduras at the National Stadium.

The US men's national team will begin its quest for a record-tying seventh confederation title when they face Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and Panama in Group “D”.
